Memorial Day closings

All non-emergency city of Bainbridge offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, with normal operating hours.

Due to the holiday, the city’s garbage collection schedule will be pushed back a day. Those residences who are regularly scheduled for Monday will have their garbage collected on Tuesday, May 28, while those regularly scheduled for Tuesday will have theirs picked up on Wednesday, May 29.

All non-emergency Decatur County government offices will also be closed.

However, the Decatur County landfill off U.S. Highway 27 South will be open during its normal hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Southwest Georgia Regional Library system, including the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library, will be closed on Memorial Day.

State and federal government offices, including the U.S. Postal Service, will also be closed for the holiday.

UPS and FedEx services will not operate on Monday, with the exception of UPS’s Express Critical service.

The Post-Searchlight will be closed Monday and re-open for business on Tuesday.
