Rosa Lee Gainous White, 92, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bryan Hatchett and Dr. Danny Shepard officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. White was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Cairo, Ga., the daughter of Harvey Lee Gainous and Avie Whigham Gainous. She was a Christian wife, loving mother and a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband George W. White; her son, Kenneth White; her daughter, Christine W. McRae; and her siblings, Gladys Calhoun, Evelyn Gainous, Myrtle Lambert, Winnie Mae Duren, Frances Gainous, Herman Gainous, L. B. Gainous and Fondren Gainous.

Survivors include her son, Gerald White of Climax; her daughter, Mary Alice Godwin and her husband, Johnny, of Thomasville; her eight grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandson.
