‘Cleanup’ was another great success

We salute the countless volunteers who took the time out of their Saturday mornings to participate in the “Great American Cleanup” this past weekend.
According to Suzanne Brandt, the executive director of Keep Decatur County Beautiful (KDCB), the participants picked up more than 1.5 tons of trash. While some came out on their own, others participated as a group, including the Bainbridge Lions Club and the cadets of the Bainbridge High School Jr. ROTC program.
It is wonderful to see community members take pride in the place where they live, and work hard to make it look as nice as possible. Hopefully the next time someone thinks of throwing a piece of trash out the window, he’ll remember all that hard work that these volunteers did, and decide not to litter.
Remember that KDCB sponsors several similar clean-up activities throughout the year, and always needs help. For more information, call Brandt at (229) 246-3611 or email her at bdckab@surfsouth.com.
