Make a difference for ‘Earth Day’

In anticipation of Earth Day, which will be Monday, April 22, the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Public Library is hosting the start of the “Great American Cleanup.”

Today, Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m., come meet at the library for the kickoff of the event. Everyone is encouraged to join a team from work, church, or school, and come help make Decatur County’s roadways the best they can be.

Even if you aren’t a member of a team, come out and support the event. The more people who can help, the more good that will come from the event.

If you can’t make it out to the library Saturday morning, try and find some other small ways to help make a difference on Earth Day. Whether it’s taking a shorter shower, or carpooling with a friend, or choosing to bring your own bag to the grocery store, we can all make a small difference. Regardless of your political and religious beliefs, surely we can all agree that it’s a good idea to try and keep our planet as beautiful as we can.
