Miss West and Mr. Philips to wed in May

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence West Jr., of Cairo, Ga., proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitley Lawren, to John Thomas Phillips, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson of Bainbridge, and Mr. Tommy Phillips of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Lawren is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Elkins of Cairo and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence West Sr. of Hartsfield, Ga.
She is a 2008 graduate of Cairo High School and will graduate in May with a degree in early childhood education from Albany State University.
“JT” is the grandson of Mrs. Mattie Gunn and the late Mr. Elton Gunn of Bainbridge, Mrs. Betty Floyd and the late Mr. Hugh Floyd of Hurtsboro, Ala., Mrs. Carolyn Phillips and the late Raymond Phillips of Bainbridge, and the late Mrs. Mary Anderson and Eric Anderson, also of Bainbridge.
He is a 2005 graduate of Bainbridge High School and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Diversified Agriculture from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He is employed at Pioneer Hi-Bred International.
The wedding will take place at Sundown Farms Plantation, in Moultrie, Ga., on Saturday, May 4, at 6 p.m. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend.
