Ruby Franklin Buie Hall, 87, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas P. Long and the Rev. Danny Shepard officiating, and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery, with Ronnie Franklin, Jacky Grubbs, Billy Birdsong, Gerald Franklin, Johnny Birdsong and Jerry Henry serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 117 S. Donalson St., Bainbridge, GA 39817, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Mrs. Hall was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Eldorendo, the daughter of John Franklin and Matilda Whittaker Franklin. She was valedictorian of Pine Hill High School, Class of 1942, and a graduate of Perry Business School. Mrs. Hall was a branch manager for Southern Discount Company, which later became Fleet Finance Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church, American Legion Post #62 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post #4904 Ladies Auxiliary, Tarah Temple #150 Daughters of the Nile, Past President of the Bainbridge Pilot Club, and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husbands, John Malcolm “Mack” Buie and Donald C. Hall.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne Buie and his wife, Nancy, of Dublin, Ga. and Johnny Buie and his wife, Chee Chee, of Bainbridge; her brother, Jack Franklin of Seattle, Wash.; her sister, Annie Krause of Albany, Ga.; her grandchildren, Chandler Buie, Chuck Buie, Charla B. Sathe, Darbi B. Brock, and Mack Buie; and her four great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
