Eager Hobson Ingram, 77, of Bainbridge, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, due to complications after a short illness at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
Mr. Ingram was born Sept. 28, 1935, in Seminole County, Ga., to the late Irie and Lila Ingram. Educated at the Brinson School, he briefly served in the Marine Air Reserve before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, serving honorably for 20 years and being given the Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. He had been stationed twice in the Philippines and briefly in Greenland.
He returned to Bainbridge, after retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1975. He had been a manager of Port City Lanes, and with his brother and nephews ran IMI Construction in the 1990s. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Seminole and Spring Creek in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dewitt Ingram and Malcom Ingram.
He is survived by a son, Robert Ingram of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Linda Ingram Fowler and her husband, Jimmy, of Bainbridge; a step-son, Alexander Estenzo of Marysville, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
