Rodeo was another rip-roarin’ success

The Family Connection Board of Directors and the families and children that they help would like to thank the many community partners who made the fourth annual Port City Rodeo a great success.
First, a big thank you to our Gold Level sponsor, Farm Credit, who also provided volunteers to work the concession stands and sell t-shirts. Farm Credit partners with Family Connection on the annual coat drive and is truly a part of our collaborative team.
Riverbend Ford, Bainbridge-Decatur County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Walmart were our next biggest sponsors and we are so appreciative of their financial support.
The following businesses sponsored rodeo events: Port City Timber, Georgia Power, Sugar Shack, Total Petroleum, Dollar Farm Products, First Port City Bank, Hardees and Ivey Funeral Home. Our other cash supporters included Decatur Auto Parts, Port City Dental, Port City Deli, Sunoco, Health Food Products, Southern Trading Co., Rozier & Associates, CARE, Home Depot, Kiwanis, Sanfilipo, Memorial Hospital, Youmans & Gardner, Serenity Spa, Flint River Hospice, Burke, Burke, Worsham & Harrell, Family Bank, Harvey’s, Stones/FRM, Palmer Insurance and First National Bank.
The Rodeo received donated help from Carolina Carport who provided the concession stand and covered area. Peak’s donated porta-potties. Live 101.9 donated radio announcements and interviews. Other donated services were from Southern Ag Carriers, Coca-Cola, Quality Sign Co., Boyd’s BBQ, Nichols Tractor and Five Points Cleaners. The Post Searchlight was a great partner by publishing articles and advertisements.
A very special thank you is reserved for the City of Bainbridge and Decatur County. Both the city and the county offered amazing support in setting up and tearing down the rodeo and preparing the arena. It was a wonderful thing to see everyone working together to support this family activity.
We, of course, want to thank all the rodeo fans who came out and supported Family Connection!
All of the proceeds from the rodeo go to the many programs that Family Connection sponsors that help Decatur County families and children live safe, healthy lives. Plans are already underway for the fifth annual rodeo to be held next March. If you need more information or would like to join this impressive list of sponsors, please contact Ronnie Burke at (229) 309-9032.
