Change your clocks, batteries

Daylight Saving Time will begin once again Sunday, March 10, at 2 a.m., so remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday evening.
Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens also recommends that the Daylight Saving Time switches are a great time to check the batteries on smoke alarms.
“Every year in Georgia there are fire fatalities in homes that didn’t have smoke alarms, or where the alarms didn’t function because of dead batteries,” he said. “Changing the battery at least twice every year and cleaning dust from the device are easy ways to ensure continued protection of your family and your property.”
Experts believe that use of a smoke detector more than doubles the chances you will survive a fire in your home.
