Mrs. Frances Hanna Melton, 90, of Bainbridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home.
Services for Mrs. Melton were held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 4 p.m., at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Ron Kirkland officiating.
Frances Hanna was born July 2, 1922, in Bainbridge, to Ralph Gordon Hanna and Lucile Wilson Hanna. She married Charlie Worrill Melton; who preceded her in death.
She worked as a clerk-typist with the Clerk of Superior Court in Decatur County for many years, and later as a secretary at First State National Bank. She enjoyed sewing and reading. She was a supporter of animal conservation, including the Humane Society and National Geographic Society.
Frances is survived by her sister, Evelyn Burns of Bainbridge, niece Cheryl Peterman and her sons, James Patrick Palmer (Michelle) of Newnan, Ga., Kenneth B. Palmer (Kim) of Fort Valley, Ga., Chris T. Palmer (Kim) of Cumming, Ga., Burt Palmer (Marlene) of Dacula, Ga., and numerous great-nephews.
Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
