Funeral services for Nazree Johnson, 88, of Bainbridge, were held Jan. 19, 2013 at Mt. Zuma M.B. Church with Rev. Harry Mitchell officiating.
Mrs. Johnson was born to Johnny Johnson and Sugar Bell Johnson. She was married to Elbert Moreland and two sons were born of that union. She moved to Philadelphia, Pa., where she held various jobs before becoming a nurse. She was a nurse for 28 years until her retirement.
She moved back home to Bainbridge after her retirement. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zuma M.B. Church until she became ill. She was a kind and giving person who every Christmas would give fruit baskets to the sick and shut-ins, church members and non-church members.
She was preceded in death by one son, Willie “Jr.” Moreland.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Moreland (Joan); one grandson, Thomas Moreland Jr.; a great-grandson, Thomas Moreland III; one sister Rosa Lee Johnson Williams; one brother-in-law, Thomas Murphy; one special niece whom she took as her daughter, Alexandria Andrews; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her extended family: the David, Burr and Mitchell families.
Guyton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
