Fannie C. “Big” Brock, 95, of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at her daughter’s residence in Oviedo, Fla.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales, with Rev. Barry Hooten and Michael Brick officiating. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, from 2 p.m. until service time.

Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Cecil Brock; daughter, Annis Murelle Brock, and son, Nolan Brock.

She was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Bainbridge, to the late Luther C. and Ophelia (Davis) Dodson and has been a resident of Lake Wales since 1967, moving there from Cairo, Ga. Fannie was a homemaker, loved to read and crochet and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales.

Survivors include her daughters, Ann (Greg) Taylor of Lake Wales, Roslyn (Michael) Brick of Oviedo; sons, Nolan Brock of Lake Wales, and Verlyn (Sandra) Brock of Moultrie, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
