Hear great music, help the Special Olympics

Would you like to help a great cause, and hear great music at the same time? You’ve got the chance to do just that next Saturday, as “The Miracles” perform a special concert at the Kirbo Center.
The Miracles is a nationally renowned choir of musically-gifted adults with intellectual disabilities, based out of Senatobia, Miss. They will be holding a concert at the Kirbo Center on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10 each.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Decatur County Special Olympics, which is a wonderful organization that puts on a variety of events each year. These events benefit our local citizens with intellectual disabilities, and include bowling events, a track-and-field competition and a “Snowflake Ball” prom-style dance night.
Tickets can be purchased from any Special Olympics committee member, or from these local businesses: First Port City Bank, First National Bank of Decatur County, Regions Bank, First State Bank, Five Star Credit Union, Family Bank, Peoples South Bank, The Bank of the Ozarks, The Bean, Crave, The Sugar Shack, Port City Deli, Georgia Pines and the YMCA. Committee members are Jim Beck, Pat Harrell, Krystal Hiers, Jimmy Holton, Paul Medley, Debbie Strickland, Johnny Brown, Janie Kelley and Kristie Gilley.
Please make plans to attend this special concert and help out our local Special Olympians at the same time.
