Roy C. Dahl, Jr., 83, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Conrad Salter officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites provided by Orion Lodge #8 F. & A.M.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mr. Dahl was born June 19, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the son of Roy Clynard Dahl and Edith Carrington Dahl. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and retired as a Sergeant First Class after 24 years. Mr. Dahl was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Orion Lodge # 8 F. & A.M., the Bainbridge Shrine Club, and Hasan Shrine Temple. He enjoyed playing bass guitar and harmonica.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Burnam Dahl of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Thomas Dahl and his wife, Susan, of Bainbridge, GA; his grandchildren, Chris Miller and his wife, Amanda, and Becky Gibson; and his six great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
