Let’s all remember to give thanks!

While Thursday is a time for us all to come together and enjoy a meal and fellowship with our friends and families, it’s equally important for us to remember to give thanks for our blessings throughout the year.

We should always be thankful for the chance to be alive, and strive every day to use our talents and skills to improve the world for not only ourselves, but also other people in our community.

We should be thankful that we live in a nation where we are free to celebrate our faith and exercise our political opinions, without having to worry that we will be oppressed or punished. Whether we are happy with the recent election results or not, we should be thankful that we live in a nation that affords us the opportunity to vote for our leaders in a free and peaceful election process.

We should be thankful that we also live in a nation with a free press, which allows us to inform, enlighten and entertain. In so many nations, these freedoms are not available, and it’s important for us to never take them for granted.

From all of us at The Post-Searchlight, have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
