Speaker to outline recreational plans for Apalachicola River

The Chattahoochee (Fla.) Women’s Club will have Augustus Floyd as its speaker at the Nov. 14 meeting. Floyd has degrees in environmental studies and is the curator of the Floyd Museum, in Apalachicola, Fla. The wife of George Floyd, of Apalachicola, they are building a marina at Chattahoochee Landing that will offer canoeing and kayaking, and other water events on the river. Also, they are restoring an old historical paddlewheel boat that use to travel the river 100 years ago. That restored boat will offer dining and dancing up and down the river. The public is invited.
