Buford Earl Harrison, 71, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Oct. 24, 2012.
Visitation was Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, from 6 p.m. 7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m.
Buford was born Sept. 20, 1941, in Sneads, Fla., and has called Arcadia home since 1960. He was a truck driver and employed by McBee Harvesting and Bethel Farms over the years. He also was a feed mill manager. Buford had a zest for life and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing — especially fly fishing, woodworking, camping and laying around eating candy bars while watching old westerns.
He is preceded in death by his father, Archie Harrison; grandson, Nathan Simpson; and most recently, his beloved wife, Emily Harrison.
Buford is survived by his mother, Ruby Scott, of Moore Haven, Fla.; sons, Travis (Michelle) Harrison, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Dale (Wanda) Harrison, of Bainbridge, Billy (Shirley) England, of Arcadia, Fla.; daughters, Connie (William) Reese, of Marianna, Fla., Lisa Kea and Emily Beecher, of Calabash, N.C., LaDonna (Jeff) Thyng, of Ocala, Fla., Rosa Rector, of Arcadia; sisters, Ann (Earl) Woolard, of Hawriver, N.C., Faye (Marvin) Owens, of Port Charlotte, and Betty (Joe) Branch, of Moorehaven, Fla.
Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home of Arcadia is in charge of the arrangements.
