Help out with United Way

The 2012-13 fundraising campaign for The United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County is currently under way. Organizers have set the goal at $65,000, which is the same as the last two years.

The United Way’s fundraising effort benefits 12 local agencies, which help a variety of citizens including children, low-income people and the elderly. In many cases, United Way funding helps these agencies meet budget and continue providing these needed services.

Some of the agencies funded include the American Red Cross, the YMCA, Friendship House of Jesus, the Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program, and local Boy Scout troops. There are many more besides these, and they all meet important needs in our community.
