Ms. Deffie A. Simpson Drexler, 52, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at her home in Bainbridge. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. DeWitt Phillips will officiate.

Deffie Simpson was born Oct. 2, 1960, in Bainbridge, to Norman and Mildred Scott Simpson. She is a U.S. Army veteran. Ms. Drexler worked as a bookkeeper for the Faith Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, Fla. Deffie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt. She loved to shop, especially for purses. Her other love was reading.

Deffie Drexler is survived by her children, Kristen Drexler and Daniel Drexler; mother, Mildred Griffis; sisters, Nora Sirmons and Kathy Pisani; brother, Coy Simpson; grandchildren, Gabriel Drexler, Carleigh Kelly, Michael Battles, Jessica Battles, and Katelynn Battles. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Simpson and brother, Larry Simpson.
