Rufus Clark, 82, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the Tidewell Hospice House, in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was born on July 27, 1930, to Rev. Robert and Erma Clark in Alachua County, Fla.
He was employed by General Development Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Mrs. Mattie B. Clark; one son, Mitchell E. Clark, of Tallahassee, Fla.; six daughters: Dr. Linda B. Lumpkin (Melvin), of Bainbridge; Gloria J. Roe, Irma N. Clark, Sheila M. Clark-Jackson and Sandra E. Clark, all of Tallahassee, and Clara F. Napier (Richard), of Burbank, Calif.; one aunt, five sisters, four brothers, 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at St. John M.B Church, 208 Gordon St., Arcadia, Fla.

The Home Going Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at St. John M. B. Church.
Arrangements are by Hickson Funeral Home of Arcadia.
