David R. “Pete” Smith, 66, of Brinson, GA, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.
Pete was born December 30, 1945 in Brinson, GA, the son of Henry Judson Smith and Bessie Cloud Smith. He attended West Bainbridge High School and was a truck driver for many years with Kimberly Clark. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Steve Smith and his wife, Deanease, of Brinson, GA; his daughter, Renee Wooten and her husband, Gary, of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, Ray Smith and his wife, Juanita, of Brinson, GA; his sisters, Sara Moore of Brinson, GA, Ruby Barber of Bainbridge, GA, Nell Ingram of Reynoldsville, GA, Betty Sue Yates of Brinson, GA, and Frances Kelly and her husband, William, of Brinson, GA; his grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Alaina Smith, Garrett Wooten, and Amanda Wooten; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, and Tommy Smith; and his sisters, Annie Donalson and Ruth Brunetti.
