Nelson Chapel A.M.E. Church—The Women’s Missionary Society of the church, located at 640 Hall St., will sponsor a giant yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 8, beginning at 7 a.m.

St. Thomas M.B. Church—The church, located at 198 Edward Road, Fowlstown, will host the 7th Annual Women’s Conference on the theme of “Pressing Toward the Mark for the Prize with Faith” this weekend. Breakfast and registration are at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. Session runs from 9 to 3 p.m. with special guest speakers.  Sunday meeting convenes at 2 p.m.

The Baptist Association will host a Southwest Georgia Men’s Conference on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon at Decatur County Memorial Coliseum, 600 S. Wheat Ave., featuring Dr. Bobby H. Welch, past president of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Greater Mt. Calvary First Born Church of the Living God Inc., located on S. Broad St., Climax, will have Family and Friends Day on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. with Redeeming Life Fellowship Church congregation and Apostle G. Kevin Hindesman as participants.

Pleasant Grove M.B. Church, located in Pelham, will host their annual Women’s Conference on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the theme “Reflections of the Real You—Finding the Courage to Look Within.” Guest evangelist will be Corene Green ,who uses her personal testimony to help free hurting women. E.D.E.N. International Ministries, Inc., located at 2550 Old Whigham Road, this weekend, will conclude a Birthing Experience Summit 2012, “Positioned and Ready to Deliver.” Sept. 8 is Youth Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., evening at 6 p.m.; Sept. 9 is at 10 a.m. Speakers vary. • Kingdom Harvest Fellowship Church will host a Car Wash and Fish Fry in the parking lot of Auto Zone, 1020 E. Shotwell St., in Bainbridge, on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $10 donation will get you a free fish sandwich; fish baskets are $5 and a fish sandwich is $3.

• Climax Baptist Church, located at 204 W. Lee St., Climax, will have a Revival starting Sunday,  Sept. 16 and concluding Wednesday, Sept. 19.  Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and 7i p.m. Monday through Wednesday services are at 7 p.m. Rev. Tom Anderson of Dothan will be guest speaker.

Laymen Outreach Ministry, located in the annex of the Bainbridge Church of God, 205 Independent St., will celebrate its Fifth Anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 16. Everyone is invited and your prayers and financial support have been, and will be gratefully appreciated.

New Salem FWB Church, located at 2574 Spring Creek Rd., will celebrate the 7th anniversary for Minister Melba Washington on Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Randall Hines Sr. and Kingdom Harvest Fellowship bringing the message.

• St. John A.M.E. Church, located at 416 E. Broad St., Climax, will celebrate the 146th church anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. with rev. Sharon Jackson as guest messenger.

Piney Grove M.B. Church, located on Piney Grove Road, Whigham, will have a pastor’s appreciation service for Rev. Harry J. Mitchell Sr. on Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Percy Leggett of Iron City speaking.
