Mrs. Barbara Ann Johnson Tennille, 83, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at Willow Ridge.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tennille was born July 6, 1929 in Quincy, Fla., the daughter of William Washington Johnson and Leonora Lewis Johnson. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1946, and was the Hostess for International Paper Company for many years. Mrs. Tennille was a patron of the Bainbridge Little Theater, a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of the Bainbridge-Decatur County Historical Society. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Tennille; her brothers, Will Johnson and Tom Johnson; and her sister, Florence J. Humber.

Survivors include her son, Charlie Tennille and his wife, Elf, of Greenville, Miss.; her daughter, Claudia T. Hutchins and her husband, Keith, of Albany, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Dean Tennille, Katherine Hutchins, and Abbie Hutchins.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
