Services for Robby Earl Palmer, 54, of Whigham, Ga., are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Whigham United Methodist Church, with Rev. Garth Duke-Barton and Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Whigham.

Active pallbearers will be Barry Strickland, Steve Akridge, Scott Newberry, John Lodge, Mike Stolze and Bret Beaty. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Cox, Jett Cox, Terry Logue, Ridgeway Stone and Jerry Wayne Baggett.

Mr. Palmer was born on Oct. 23, 1957, in Crestview, Fla., to Bobby Gene and Mary Carolyn Newberry Palmer, who survive. He passed away at his home in Whigham on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012.

He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School in 1975. On May 18, 1984, in Bainbridge, he married Brenda McMillan Palmer, who survives. He was a graduate of Bainbridge College and was a Licensed CNA. He was a member of the Whigham Community Club and Cobb Place Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with his family and enjoyed attending NASCAR races with his brothers-in-law. He was a member of Whigham United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Walter and Hilda Newberry; paternal grandparents, Cecil Palmer, Winona and Ed Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda M. Palmer of Whigham; sons, Anthony “Bubba” Harrell of Ft. Gaines, Ga., Bobby Shane Palmer of Whigham; grandchildren, James Dylan Harrell of Cairo, Ga., Anthony Gage Harrell of Cairo; parents, Bobby Gene and Mary Carolyn Palmer of Bainbridge; sister, Sheila Palmer Bond (Paul) of Lynn Haven, Fla.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cathy and Tim Floyd of  Climax, Roger and Nina McMillan of Climax, Karen and Jimmy Holmes of Climax, Smokey and Stacey McMillan of Climax.

The family will receive friends at the home located at 1717 Old Highway 84, in Whigham, from Tuesday afternoon on.

Memorials may be made to Whigham United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 4, in Whigham.

Clark Funeral Home of Cairo is in charge of the arrangements.
