Funeral Services for Paul Brinson, 81, were held on July 14, 2012, at Mt. Ararat Primitive Baptist Church, in Attapulgus. Burial followed at Mt. Ararat Memorial Garden, in Attapulgus.

Paul Brinson was born April 28, 1931, to the late Mr. Thomas and Alpina Brinson in Colquitt, Ga. He departed at his home on July 10, 2012.

He attended Mt. Moriah High School in Attapulgus. At an early age he joined and was ordained as a deacon at Mt. Moriah II Missionary Baptist Church in Attapulgus. He later moved to Mt. Ararat Primitive Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon. He was married to Narcissus Newkirk and Verdell Murray. He started his career as a master barber in 1954.  He was the esteemed owner and operator of Brinson’s Barber Shop in Bainbridge.

Deacon Brinson was preceded in death by his wife, Verdell Murray Brinson, brother, Thomas Brinson Jr., sister, Hattie Mae Brinson Harris, and son, Paul Brinson Jr.

Survivors include Elder Silas Brinson (Levada) of Havana, Fla.; a special, devoted caregiver and friend, Doris Harrison of Reno, Ga; 13 children, Rev. James Youmas of Havana, Pamela Brinson, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kenneth Brinson of Mobile, Ala., Felicia Brinson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Charles Brinson (Marcia) of Brooklyn, Reginald Brinson (Dedria) of Long Island, N.Y., Cynthia Coachman, Linda Brinson, Rev. Dennis Brinson (Kesha), Damon Gordon (Pamela), Demorris Kinder (Erica), Jennifer Scott (Clifford), Quinten Finn and Carmen Finn, all of Bainbridge; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Chandler’s Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge.
