Services for Galeion (Leon) Franklin Green, 50, of Havana, Fla., will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012, at New Jerusalem M.B. Church, in Havana.

Mr. Green was born Jan. 14, 1962, in Bainbridge, to the late Richard and Louzena Akins Green. He died Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

He was a 1980 graduate of Bainbridge High School and served in the U.S. Army. He served as a volunteer firefighter and a first responder with the Fowlstown Fire Department. He loved fishing and held membership with the Bainbridge Bass Club. He was employed with the U.S. Post Office in Tallahassee, Fla., until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Elaine Thomas-Green of Havana; son, Derius R. Green of Tallahassee; godson, Demarion McClure of Havana; three brothers, Lonnie J. Green of Pontiac, Mich., and Richard H. Green (Retha) and Ronald L. Green of Bainbridge; three sisters, Alvada G. Chandler (Paul) of Attapulgus, and Dr. Brenda G. Whittenberg and Linda B. Green of Tallahassee; his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Collie Thomas of Havana; two brothers-in-law, Harry Sapp of Atlanta, Ga., and Kenneth Haravin of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Thomas of Tallahassee and Patricia Thomas of Havana; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
