Joe Edward Lane, 69, of Bainbridge, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Christian Faith Church, with the Rev. Ron Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens, with his grandsons serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mr. Lane was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Cyrus Edward Lane and Ruth Williams Lane. After 40 years of service, Mr. Lane retired as a house mover and truck driver. As an avid golfer, he was a member of the Pines Golf Course and he was also a member of Christian Faith Church.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Rowan Lane of Bainbridge; his sons, Joel Lane, Billy Lane and his wife, Michelle, all of Bainbridge, Mark Lane and his wife, Joy, of Barnesville, Ga., and Matthew Lane of Williamson, Ga.; his brother, Kenneth Lane of San Bernardino, Calif.; his sisters, Carolyn Kain of Anaheim, Calif., Martha Ard and her husband, Wayne, of San Bernardino, and Jean Mixon and her husband, W.L., of Riverside, Calif.; his 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
