Calvin Leverett

Calvin Leverett, 49, of Salem, Ala. died July 6, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Rev. Bruce Gordon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parrott City Cemetery.
A native of Albany, Ga., Calvin was born to the late Calvin Earl Leverett and Flora Pass Leverett. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1981 and graduated from Georgia Southwestern University in 1990.
He had lived in Albany and Leesburg, Ga., most of his life before moving to Auburn, Ala., four years ago. At the time of his passing, Calvin was employed with Regions Bank in Columbus, where he served as the manager of the Whittlesey Boulevard Branch.
Calvin was a member of Westview Baptist Church, The North Columbus Rotary Club, was Vice Chair of The Chamber of Commerce for Harris County, Ga., was a member of Leadership Columbus and was a member and Past Master Chehaw Masonic Lodge # 701.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Diane Leverett.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Duffy Leverett of Salem; two aunts, Rheta Skolaut of Durham, N.C. and Carolyn Leverett Kelly and her husband, Harold of Bainbridge; his cousins, Marvelyn Smith and her husband, Terry of Athens, Ga., Dwayne Kelly and his wife, Crystal of Bainbridge, Eloise Davis, Dean Davis and his wife, Mary Gail and Tom Davis, all of Warthen, Ga., Robert White and his wife, Susan and Angela Burkhalter and her husband, Leon, all of Augusta, Ga., and Gloria Lindsay and her husband, Don of Sandersville, Ga.; his sister-in-law and her husband, Theresa and Keith DuPree of Leesburg, her brother-in-law and his wife, Gordon and Betty Etchison of Gulfport, Miss.; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Goode and her husband, Paul, Ashley Everrett, Matt DuPree and his wife, Lydia, all of Leesburg, Kip DuPree of Albany, Katie Coffee and her husband, Chad of Dunwoody, Ga., Brian Etchison and his wife, Saundra and Christopher Etchison and his wife, Jessica of Saucier, Miss.; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will be at the residence of Theresa and Keith DuPree, 103 Setter Court, Leesburg, GA, 31763. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany.
