Thelma Lynn Floyd, 100, of Bainbridge, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Bainbridge Health Care.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with her nephews serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Thelma was born April 11, 1912, at Lynn Station community near Bainbridge, the daughter of Charlie Tilton Lynn and Ada Hatcher Lynn. She was a graduate of Pine Hill High School and a homemaker. She was very active in First Baptist Church and sang in the Saints Alive Choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Floyd.
Survivors include her sons, Melvin Floyd and his wife, Elise, of Bainbridge, and Gerald Floyd and his wife, Sharon, of Tallahassee, Fla.; her daughter, Lynnette Wynn and her husband, Willard, of Thomasville, Ga.; her sister, Joyce Lynn Poitevint of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Ken Floyd, Kim Floyd, Lyle Floyd, Linzy Watson, Deborah Schimmel, and Angela Murphy; 10 great-grandchidren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
