Mrs. Carolyn Tate Alday, 72, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Harvest Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Malcolm Parker will officiate. Andy Dunn, Edward Deal, Jack Newberry, Duane Tate, Robert Tuten and Jared Long will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be held at Calvary Assembly of God Cemetery.
Carolyn was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Bonifay, Fla., to James Alvin Tate and Agnes Burdeshaw Tate. In 1956, she married Charlie Lee (Bill) Alday. She worked as a security guard for DSI at Shaw Industries. Carolyn was very active at her church, Harvest Assembly of God. She liked to read and work word and IQ puzzles. She truly loved her God and her family. Carolyn was a huge Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lee “Bill” Alday; parents, Rev. J.A. and Agnes Tate; and brother, Terry Tate.
Carolyn Alday is survived by her children: Charles Alday and wife, Ann of Deltona, Fla., Martha Walker and husband, Tim of Dothan, Ala., Sharon Jenkins and husband, Tony of Bainbridge, Amy Kent and husband, Bo of Bainbridge; brothers: Randy Tate and wife, Elaine of Springfield, Mo. and Michael Tate and wife, Judy of Venus, Fla.; sister-in-law: Helen Tate of Bainbridge; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
