Mr. Travis Braswell, 63, of Donalsonville, Ga., passed away on June 6, 2012, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, 2012, in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, with Rev. Kent Barwick and Rome Ethredge officiating. Interment followed at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, in Iron City, Ga.
Casketbearers were Vann Hornsby, Alan Ingram, Ronnie Ingram, Kenneth Massey, Andy Mathis, Dennis O’Hearn, Buddy Roberts and Luke Spooner. Honorary casketbearers were Jim Dozier, Wes Dozier, Bill Hornsby, Eugene Hornsby, Don Lane, Todd Massey, Stephen Moss, Chuck Newberry and Andy Oliver.
He was born in Donalsonville, on Feb. 6, 1949, to the late Emmett Jefferson and Martha Lena Ingram Braswell. He graduated from Seminole County High School in 1967 and served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan. He enjoyed the life of farming, especially growing vegetables and fruits for all to enjoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Braswell; and a sister, Joyce Bradford.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff Braswell and his wife Susan of Iron City, and Stephen Braswell of Donalsonville; a daughter, Tabitha Lovering of Dothan, Ala.; three sisters, Jean Tyler, Glenda Sheffield and her husband Bob, all of Albany, Ga., and Joy Giles and her husband Beau of Macon, Ga. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Emily Braswell, Morgan Hatcher and Will Hatcher.
