Jeanette Wells Rentz, 77, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Eldorendo Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas P. Long and Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Eldorendo Baptist Church Cemetery with Timmy Wells, Bryan Wells, Phillip Rentz, Stuart Kelley, Brad Kelley, and Chris Kelley as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rentz was born Oct. 28, 1934 in Colquitt, the daughter of George Carlton Wells and Mattie Thelma Vann Wells. She was a graduate of Miller County High School and a member of Eldorendo Baptist Church. She worked in the family practice of Dr. Edwin Griffin for many years and was an integral part of the management of the Rentz family farm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Rentz; and her brother, Max Eugene Wells.

Survivors include her sons, Kim D. Rentz and his wife, Onys, of Eldorendo, and Richard Rentz and his wife, Suzanne, of Gainesville, Fla.; her sisters, Carolyn Wells Kelley of Bainbridge, and Debra Wells Phillips and her husband, Robert, of Colquitt; her grandchildren, Margaret Rentz Smith and her husband, Greg, Mary Elizabeth Rentz Shiver and her husband, Jim, Jenna Suzanne Rentz, and Alexandra Rentz Golden and her husband, Kevin; and her great-grandson, Jacob Tucker Shiver.

The family would like to give special thanks to the current care givers, Amanda Gaines, Sally Henry, and Carolyn Hilton, whose love and compassion was greatly appreciated.
