Myra Phillips Strang, 65, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, Fla.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Wilbourn and Chaplain Dewitt Phillips officiating, and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at White’s Bridge Cemetery near Colquitt.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home.
Myra was born April 22, 1947, in Miller County, Ga., the daughter of Maston Oneal Phillips and Ruth Donalson Phillips. She served in the U.S. Army and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, W.R. “Bobby” Phillips, William S. “Billy” Phillips, Harry A. Phillips; and her sister, Yvonne Gaston.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Strang of Bainbridge; her son, Joey Taylor and his wife, Michele, of El Paso, Texas; her brothers, Maston Phillips and his wife, Pat, of Colquitt, and Wilson Phillips of Eufaula, Ala.; her sisters, Dollie Childree of Brinson, Katie Dasher and her husband, Jack, of Bainbridge, and Lois Wilbourn and her husband, Al, of Coolidge, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Cody Taylor and Mary Taylor.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
