The funeral service for Jack A. Starling Sr., 87, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, May 15 at Union Free Will Baptist Church near Abbeville, Ala. with Rev. Danny Vun Cannon and Mr. Ronny Starling officiating, and will conclude in the church. His grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at Union Free Will Baptist Church, one hour prior to the funeral service.
Jack was born May 10, 1925 near Abbeville, the son of Henry Lester Starling and Mary Wyatt Starling. He died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School and was a retired millwright from the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant. Jack was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for several years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Starling; his brother, Leroy Starling; and his sister, Lucy B. Stuckey.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Doris Townsend Starling of Bainbridge; his sons, Jackie Starling and his wife, Sylvia, of Headland, Ala., Ronny Starling and his wife, Patricia, of Climax, and Mike Starling of Newville, Ala.; his daughter, Kay Livingston and her husband, Charlie, of Cyrene; his grandchildren, Matt Starling, Derek Starling and his wife, Michelle, Joshua Starling and his wife, Kari, Townsend Livingston, and Mayo Livingston; and his great-grandchildren, Jordan Starling, Elizabeth Starling, Jackson Starling, Michael Starling, and Makayla Starling.
