Come out and enjoy River Town Days
Published 8:33 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2012
It’s once again time for the annual River Town Days festival, and we invite everyone in Decatur County to come out and enjoy the fun.
The excitement kicks off Friday morning, as vendors open their booths at 10 a.m. The festival continues later Friday night with a free concert at the Earle May Boat Basin’s performing arts stage, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The featured band, A1A, is the “official Jimmy Buffett” tribute band and will perform many of his famous hits. A fireworks show will follow the concert.
The fun continues Saturday night with the Great River Rummage Sale beginning at 8 a.m. The children’s rides will open at 10 a.m. and feature everything from a pirate’s ship to a zip line. The stage will also feature live entertainment throughout the day, from a variety of local talented groups like ballerinas and karate students.
There are even more fun activities scheduled for the festival, and more information is available at the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce website at www.bainbridgechamber.com. You can also call the Chamber at (229) 246-4774.
River Town Days is just another example of one of the small-town charms that we all enjoy living in Bainbridge. It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together for a single and simple purpose — to have a good time. Let’s all behave, and let’s all have fun together this weekend. We hope to see you there!
