Funeral services for Franklin Bartow Faircloth will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home, with Rev. Ellis Officiating. Burial will follow at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Michael Shay Miller, Mitchell Comerford, Edward Comerford, Donnell Powell, Stanley Harrell and Kinan Obeidin.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Faircloth was born in Donalsonville, Ga., on March 1, 1934, to the late Franklin Bartow Sr. and Eva Lucinda Odom Faircloth. He died April 10, 2012, at his residence. A member of Brinson Baptist Church, a great storyteller, he loved to fish, but did not like snakes. He was on the Brinson City Council for more than 40 years and also a member of Salem Masonic Lodge 267.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Bartow Sr. and Eva Lucinda Odom Faircloth; brothers, Calvin Faircloth, Donnell Faircloth and Hayden Faircloth; sisters, Gwen Hunt Heller, Monica Smith, Sabra Ann Childress and Judy Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Rae Faircloth of Brinson; sons, Frank Faircloth of Tallahassee, Fla.; Randy Faircloth and his wife Cindy of Brinson; daughters, Debbie Harrell and her husband Larry of Brinson; Gale Weede and her friend Ron Kwiatkowski of Careyville, Fla.; brother, Marshall Faircloth of Tallahassee; sisters, Sue Preston of Milton, Fla., Kathryn Smith of Donalsonville, Etta Merle Tucker of Pensacola, Fla., and Charlotte Phillips of Donalsonville. He is also survived by grandchildren, Rachel Obeidin (Kinan) of Atlanta; Renee Comerford (Mitchell) of Brinson, Michael Shay Miller (Lori) of Donalsonville, Rebecca Lynn Faircloth of Honolulu, Hawaii; and great-grandchildren, Jessica Brock, Mason Hale, Coleman Miller and Julie Miller.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
