The funeral service for Willie Rufus Scott, 62, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Milton Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Roger McMillan, Doug Vickers, Joey McMillan, Ronnie McMillan, Timmy McMillan and Donnie Joe McMillan serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, 919 S. Broad St., Thomasville, GA 31792.
Mr. Scott was born March 31, 1950, in Bainbridge, the son of Rufus Scott and Panzie Cumbie Scott. He died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a former truck driver for Boyett Construction, and a mechanic with West Bainbridge Automotive.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Scott of Bainbridge; his son, David Scott and his wife, Christy, of Bainbridge; his daughters, Tracy S. Conner and her husband, Jimmy, of Bainbridge, Dee Dee Griffin and her husband, Allen, of Bainbridge, and Tammy Fletcher, and her husband, Greg, of Bainbridge; his brother, Danny Scott, and his wife, Shelia, of Bainbridge; his sisters, Iona L. Thornton of Bainbridge, Magaline Mosley, and her husband, J.W., of Woodville, Fla., Hilda Fenner of Bainbridge, Mary Harrison of Bainbridge, and Ruby McMillan of Bainbridge; and his grandchildren, Brittany Scott, Tyler Scott, Cheyene Scott, Greg Conner, Jessie Conner, Blake Griffin, Allison Griffin, Reilly Fletcher, and Dalton Fletcher.
