Taste of the Middle East at BC on April 9-12

PREPARING FOR AN ART CONTEST, in association with Bainbridge College’s “Taste of the Middle East” International Education Week on April 9-12, are Dr. Emily Dowd, who is giving art instructions, and BC student David Harrell of Bainbridge. Bainbridge College will hold its International Education Week on April 9-12, with a “Taste of the Middle East” as its theme.

On Monday, April 9, from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., Dr. Mouyyed Hassouna, a political science professor at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College, will talk about Arabic culture, in Room 961 of the Student Wellness Center.

On Tuesday, April 10, there will be an Israeli dance exhibition and tutorial from 11 a.m. to noon, in the Kirbo Center Solarium. From noon to 1 p.m., there will be a veterans’ roundtable on “Building the Future in the Middle East.”

On Wednesday, April 11, there will be a tribal belly dance performance, lecture and lessons from 11 a.m. to noon at the BC center stage. From noon to 1 p.m., Dr. James Wyatt will speak on the history of Islam.

On Thursday, April 12, there will be an art contest from 11:30 a.m. to noon; Middle Eastern food tasting from noon to 12:30 p.m., and a poetry contest from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. All of these events will be at the Kirbo Center Solarium.

Members of the community, high school students and teachers, and community organizations are welcome to any of the events.
