The funeral service for Patricia Cutchens “Patty” Cannington, 67, of Lumpkin, Ga., will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Austin Phillips officiating and will conclude at the chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Lumpkin, with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Historic Westville, P. O. Box 1850, Lumpkin, GA 31815.
Patty was born Dec. 9, 1944, in Bainbridge, the daughter of R.J. Cutchens and Wilma Barfield Cutchens. She died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Stewart-Webster Hospital in Richland, Ga. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1962, and attended South Georgia Technical College. Patty was a retired tourism director for Westville and a member of First Baptist Church in Lumpkin.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ed Cannington of Lumpkin; her son W. E. “Trey” Cannington III of Germany; her daughter, Jill C. Bennett and her husband, Kelly, of Lumpkin; her sister, Janice C. Cooper, of Bainbridge; her brother, Jimmy Cutchens and his wife, Beverly, of Bainbridge; and her grandchildren, Cody Bennett and Carson Bennett, both of Lumpkin.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
