The funeral service for Frances Campbell Reeves, 91, of Bainbridge, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 541, Bainbridge, GA 39818.

Mrs. Reeves was born July 31, 1920, in Carrollton, Ga., the daughter of William Scott Campbell and Eva Thomasson Campbell. She passed away Sunday March 18, 2012, at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, Ga. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School, Class of 1937, attended West Georgia College, and received her B.S. in Home Economics from Georgia State College for Women.

She owned and operated Reeves On The Square from 1959 until 2003. She was the first female director for the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce and was very active in the Downtown Bainbridge Business Association. She was Decatur County Woman of the Year in 1977. She was very active in First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Walter Reeves Jr. and her son, Scott Campbell Reeves.

Survivors include her son, Tom Reeves and his wife, Gloria, of Bainbridge; her daughter, Nancy R. Childers and her husband, Chet, of Dacula, Ga.; her grandchildren, Amy Reeves Whitaker of Smyrna, Ga., Walter Lee Childers and his wife, Jamie, of Atlanta, Ga., Douglas Campbell Childers of Atlanta, and Patrick Thomas Childers and his wife, Lauren, of Marietta, Ga.; and her great-granddaughters, Georgia Childers and Molly Childers.
