The graveside memorial service for James Lewis, 69, of the People’s Republic of China and formerly of Bainbridge will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Brock Cemetery, 366 Brock Cemetery Road, Bainbridge. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Brock Cemetery Fund, c/oVera Wooten, 232 Jesse Brock Road, Climax, Ga. 39834.

James was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Bainbridge, the son of Robert Lewis and Vallie Brock Lewis.  He died Friday, March 9, 2012, in China. He was a graduate of Paxon High School, Class of 1960, and Mississippi State University. James was an industrial engineer for Burlen Corp., where he worked abroad for the past several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and instilling strong family values in his children and grandchildren and serving his community through his membership in the Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Lewis.

Survivors include his wife, Juliana Lewis of the People’s Republic of China; his son, David Munden and his wife, Charlotte, of Rochelle, Ga.; his daughters, Frann Monk and her husband, Doyle, of Florence, Miss., Ginger Lewis of Tallahassee, Fla., and Andrea Powers and her husband, Michael, of Havana, Fla.; his brother, Robert Lewis and his wife, Kathleen, of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Sharon Alghadban and her husband, Nadhim, of Dallas; his eight grandchildren, Hunter Munden, Pam Thoman, Donnie Monk, Jamie Brewer, Leeanna Monk, Katsi Powers, Maya Powers and Able Powers; and his five great-grandchildren, Bridget Monk, Frankie Monk, Lizzie Monk, Anthony Thoman, and Drew Thoman.
