Funeral services for Dock Edward Moore, 76, were held Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Cyrene, Ga., with the Rev. Willie J. Kegler officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery in Brinson.

Mr. Moore was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Brinson to the late Carey J. Moore Sr. and Hattie Mae Davis-Moore. He died Feb. 27, 2012, at his home in Bainbridge.

He received his education at Brinson Vocational High School and West Bainbridge High School. His first job was with Southern Airways and he worked at Hyatt Roller Bearing in Clark, N.J., for many years until he retired and returned to his home in Bainbridge. He attended Mt. Zion M.B. Church, were he served faithfully until his health failed.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by two brothers, Carey J. Moore Jr. and Lewis C. Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eva Pearl Moore; one son, Kenneth Moore of Cranford, N.J.; one daughter, Susan Kirkland of Newark, N.J.; three grandsons, Rashad Kirkland of Newark, Rasheed Kirkland of Jersey City, N.J., and Charles Kirkland of Newark; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Moore Sr., Willie B. Moore, both of Bainbridge and Griffin H. Moore of Cranford; one sister, Ethel Mae Moore-Crawford of Bainbridge; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
