Parent volunteering workshops soon

Parents who have indicated a desire to volunteer in their child’s school are encouraged to attend one of parent volunteer training sessions that is being offered. Research shows parent involvement increases academic success. One way to be actively involved in your child’s education is to become a parent volunteer.
The workshops will be held at the Decatur County Board of Education (DCBOE) Support Center, 507 Martin St. in west Bainbridge. They will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; or Thursday, March 1, from noon to 1 p.m., or 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Come learn the do’s and don’t’s of volunteering along with other important information. Participants will receive several free items as a way of saying “thank you” for their parent volunteerism. Photo IDs will be made at the meetings, as well.
