The funeral service for Willie Mae Bland Culverson, 72, of Whigham, Ga., was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bob Nipper and Rev. Herman Hand officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham.
Mrs. Culverson was born July 18, 1939, in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., the daughter of Irvin Lawrence Hoskins and Betty Golden Day Hoskins. She died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Ga. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant from Whigham Nursing Home and attended church at The Potter’s House.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland R. Culverson.
Survivors include her son, Rick Bland and his wife, Pamella, of Whigham; her daughters, Brenda Anvar and her husband, Bijon, of Climax, Gail Thomas and her husband, Robert, Laura Lashley and her husband, Harry, and Tammie Moore and her husband, Henry, all of Bainbridge; her brothers, Ruben Hoskins and Irvin Hoskins, both of Panama City, Fla.; her sister, Maggie Hutto Myrick of Panacea, Fla.; her 16 grandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
