A funeral service for Mr. Samuel Wade Bowen was held Friday, Feb. 17, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. The service concluded at the Chapel.

Mr. Bowen was born Aug. 9, 1952, in Bainbridge, to Russell Hall Bowen,Jr. and Delores Tipton Bowen. He passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Bainbridge Healthcare.

He was a talented salesman, was ambitious and never met a stranger. Wade loved being outdoors. He liked walking in the woods and enjoying nature. He loved to work with his hands on cars and motorcycles. He could take apart or rebuild anything.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Barry Bowen.

Survivors include his children, Sasha Bowen Gainous (husband, Stephen) of Thomasville, Jason Wade Bowen (wife, Molly) of Brinson, and Coty Bowen of Miller County, Ga.; brothers and sisters, Marsha Gail Bowen Johnson (Husband, Scott) of Colquitt, Sally J. Bowen Yarlott (husband, Curtis) of Ashland, Mont., Edgar Ted Bowen (Wife, Patty) of Utah, David Hilliard Bowen (Wife, Sandy) of Bainbridge, Robert Kent Bowen (Wife, Sherry) of Rome, Ga., Dennis Ray Bowen, Climax, and John Stephen Bowen (Wife, Leann) of South Carolina; former wife and friend, Patti Bowen; and 4 grandchildren.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
