Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Heard of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter Julie Ann Heard of Tifton to Ralph Edward Jones, also of Tifton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Ray Harrell of Bainbridge, and the late Mrs. Dale Harrell and Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Heard, all formerly of Bainbridge.

Miss Heard is a 2003 graduate of Bainbridge High School and graduated from Valdosta State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Speech Communications. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority at Valdosta State. She is employed as a sales representative with Physician Sales and Service.

The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones of Bainbridge and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Womble, all deceased, formerly of Cairo.

He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2001 and from the University of Georgia in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Science in Agricultural and Environmental Science. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Epsilon fraternity while at UGA. He is employed as a financial advisor with VALIC.

The wedding is planned for April 21, at 5 p.m. central standard time, at The Gulf Green at Alys Beach, Fla., where the reception will follow. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
