The funeral service for Bob C. “Bobby” Darley, 73, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Roberts, Rev. Andy Hall, and Rev. Ed Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Phillip Martin, Jimmy Pollock, Tarrell Bennett, Trevor Pollock, Walter Goodman, and Edward Reynolds serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and the men of Delwood Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mr. Darley was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Mitchell County, Ga., the son of Bob Cannon Darley and Elma Burnam Darley. He died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Bainbridge Healthcare. He was the co-owner and operator of Decatur Garden and Farm Supply and was an inspector for Federal-State Inspection Services for more than 20 years. Mr. Darley was a member of Delwood Baptist Church.

Mr. Darley was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew NeSmith, his granddaughter, Stephanie Swift, and his sister, Verlyn Brock Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Vivian Murphy Darley; his son, Mark Darley and his wife, Linda; his daughters, Kimberly NeSmith and her husband, Jerry, and Penny Rackley and her husband, Freddie, all of Bainbridge; his brothers, Ehlich Darley and his wife, Barbara, and Joe Darley, all of Camilla, Ga., and Gordon Darley and his wife, Eleanor, of Albany, Ga.; his sister, Geraldine NeSmith of Quincy, Fla.; his grandchildren, Kristen Darley, Sierra Darley, B.J. Lashley, Jerry Alan NeSmith and his wife, Ashley, Laban Rackley, and Graham Rackley; and his two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hunter.
