Pre-K registration coming soon

Registration for enrollment in pre-kindergarten classes for the 2012-2013 school year will be held February 16.

Registration will be held during two sessions, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

To qualify, the student must be four years old on or before September 1, 2012. Parents and guardians must register at the school in the zone where the family lives. Children who live in the zone will be placed on a class roll first. Out-of-zone children will be placed on a  waiting list for the school they wish to attend.

Pre-kindergarten registration is conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

Documents needed for registration

Parents and guardiants should bring all of the following when they come to register:

• Copy of Birth Certificate

• Proof of Address / Georgia residency (such as utility bills, a rent receipt or a mortgage payment/lease agreement–driver’s licenses and cell phone bills will not be accepted)

• Copy of child’s Social Security card

• Copy of Immunization Form 3231 (from a doctor or the County Health Department)

• Copy of Medicaid / PeachCare card (if applicable)

• Copy of Food Stamp card / recertification letter / award letter from Department of Family and Children’s Services (if applicable)

Public schools where pre-kindergarten programs are offered include: Elcan King Elementary, 725 Louise St., 248-2212; John Johnson Elementary, 1947 S. West St., 248-2215; Jones-Wheat Elementary, 1400 E. Broughton St., 248-2218; Potter Street Elementary, 725 Potter Street, 248-2253; West Bainbridge Elementary, 915 Zorn Road, 248-2821.
