Glamour, dancing and a fun time in general will be had by participants of Decatur County Special Olympics’ second annual Snowflake Ball at the Kirbo Center at Bainbridge College on Saturday.
The event is for adult Special Olympians from ages 16 and up. Bill Searcy will be the DJ and the Pilot Club will provide refreshments.
“Just being out there and watching the participants dance … they have such a great time and you can see it on their faces,” said Catherine VanStone, volunteer coordinator for the Special Olympics Committee.
VanStone also mentioned how the Special Olympic events are a great way for the Southwest Georgia Regional Library’s Special Services to gain awareness.
Seeing how much the participants enjoy the Ball is just fulfilling for the volunteers involved in putting the event together and “it’s one of the highlights of my year,” VanStone said.
