The funeral service for Eula Nunnery Matthews, 95, of Bainbridge, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Matthews was born Dec. 30, 1916, in Fayetteville, N.C., the daughter of Murdock McKinnon Nunnery and Florence Jane Fort Nunnery. She died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. She was a devoted mother and was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Matthews; and her granddaughter, Joy G. Clark.

Survivors include her son, Tommy M. Day and his wife, Mary, of Bainbridge; her grandson, Lee Godwin and his wife, Tammi, of Bainbridge; her great-grandchildren, Nick Godwin, Ashley Godwin, Wesley Godwin, Alex Clark, Taylor Clark, and Tyler Godwin; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
